While automobiles are relative newcomers on the scene, boats go back thousands of years. With the mass
production of automobiles in the early 20th Century, hooking the two together was a natural. By towing a boat
trailer behind the automobile new and exciting recreational opportunities opened up across the country.
Preserving the history of the automobile/boat connection is a serious challenge and obligation, one that the
KAARC gladly accepts. Automobile and boat designs have merged together in many unique ways. For instance, you might see a 1957
Chevrolet hardtop pulling a 1957 Century hard top boat, both having headlights taillights and tailfins. Perhaps you
will see an “Amphicar," an Auburn Boatail Speedster, or a Skiff car. We hope to have them all. Also included will
be antique outboard motors, wooden, metal, fiberglass, car top, and folding boats. This will be a friendly, fun show held on the beautiful grounds of the Gilmore Car Museum. As a non-judged event
we will be presenting “People’s Choice” awards. Tell your friends, or your club.
